A pale shape in murky water — sometimes pink, sometimes gray, always unexpected.
Amazon river dolphins navigate flooded forests and winding channels with ease, turning their flexible necks to twist between trees and roots. Their movements are quiet, their eyes small, their world shaped more by sound than sight.
They hunt fish, crustaceans, and even small turtles, using echolocation to find prey in dark waters. Often alone or in small groups, they surface with barely a ripple — just a soft breath and a glimpse of something ancient. More myth than memory in some places, but still alive where the forest meets the river.
