Ursus arctos arctos
Statut de Conservation (Liste Rouge de l'UICN):
Préoccupation mineure (LC)
Heavy-footed, broad-shouldered, and usually alone. Brown bears roam forests, mountains, and river valleys — feeding on berries, roots, fish, carrion, and whatever else the season offers. Their strength is undeniable, but they rarely waste energy.
They dig dens for winter, raise cubs with caution, and move with surprising silence when they choose. Most encounters are brief — a glimpse of fur between trees, a print in the mud, a shape disappearing uphill.
They are not common — but where the forest is deep and old, they are still there.
