Préoccupation mineure (LC)
Long nose, ringed tail, and a habit of rummaging through everything.
Coatis move in groups through forests and savannas, sniffing the ground, climbing trees, flipping leaves and logs in search of food. Insects, fruit, eggs, small animals — they’re not picky.
Their snouts are flexible, built for probing. Their tails rise like flags as they move through tall grass. Females and young travel in bands; adult males live alone.
They’re clever, restless, and endlessly curious — part raccoon, part monkey, entirely coati. Always searching, always on the move.
