Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi
Statut de Conservation (Liste Rouge de l'UICN):
Quasi menacée (NT)
Lighter in color, with soft, cream-colored legs — almost like it’s walking on stilts.
The Rothschild giraffe is one of the rarest, with fewer patches and no markings below the knees. It moves gently through savanna woodlands, browsing acacia leaves with slow precision. Silent, towering, and calm, it watches without urgency. Each step feels deliberate.
It once ranged across much of East Africa. Now, only scattered populations remain — carefully monitored, carefully protected. A quiet giant, holding on in fragments of what used to be wide and wild.
