Tragelaphus oryx
Statut de Conservation (Liste Rouge de l'UICN):
Préoccupation mineure (LC)
It’s the largest antelope alive — but it moves with surprising grace. Common elands are quiet, careful grazers. They travel in small herds, often blending into the landscape despite their size. Males carry heavy, spiraled horns and walk with a slow, deliberate rhythm.
They can jump high, trot for miles, and go days without water. But mostly, they conserve energy — staying alert, avoiding conflict, moving only when they need to. Nothing flashy. Just strength, patience, and a calm presence on the open plains.
