Endangered (EN)

Endangered (EN)

Species classified as Endangered (EN) by the IUCN Red List face a very high risk of extinction in the wild.

The Endangered status is one of the most serious conservation warnings, indicating that a species has experienced significant population declines, has an extremely restricted habitat range, or faces ongoing severe threats that put it at risk of extinction.

Without urgent conservation efforts, many Endangered species could soon become Critically Endangered or even extinct.

Endangered species play critical roles in ecosystems, from top predators maintaining population balance to keystone species shaping habitats. Their decline signals environmental degradation, and protecting them helps conserve entire ecosystems.
